I already have a P500. Is anything possible?

Yes, a smaller step to P525 exists for the P500. The gain is 25 PS and 15 Nm, so the honest question is whether that is worth it to you.

Does the exhaust or the sound change?

No. This is a software activation of a higher factory output level; nothing about the exhaust hardware or its tuning is altered.
